Privacy Policy

This policy describes how the FNSprites Discord bot collects, uses, and stores information when you use it in a Discord server. It applies to the bot only, not to Discord itself or to any other website you may separately choose to use.

1. Overview

FNSprites is a Discord bot that supports a Fortnite sprite-collecting community: collection-related Discord roles, a support-ticket system, a trader vouch/reputation system, server milestone announcements, and an invite-tracking reward system.

We collect only the information reasonably necessary to provide these features. FNSprites does not perform Epic Games account linking or authentication itself, and never asks for or stores your Epic Games or Discord password.

2. Information We Collect

When you use the bot, we may process and store:

Your Discord user ID and username.
Server, channel, role, and message IDs relevant to a feature.
Nickname changes, limited to detecting nicknames that impersonate staff or moderator titles.
Vouch totals given and received, and the message ID of each vouch.
Which member's invite link you joined the server with, and how many unique members you have referred, for the invite reward feature.
Progress toward role-reward features, such as collection milestones, vouch rewards, invite rewards, and recurring activity counters.
Support ticket records, including message text and attachment metadata (filename and URL) sent inside your ticket channel.
Command usage, timestamps, and technical error information needed to enforce cooldowns, prevent abuse, and maintain the bot.

Message content

FNSprites only reads ordinary chat message content in specific, narrow contexts tied to a feature. It does not read or log message content across the server generally.

Collection channel: the bot reads the text and attachment of messages posted in one designated channel to detect a sprite collection and grant the corresponding role. This is processed in real time and is not stored, with one exception: staff may manually flag a small number of these messages into an internal accuracy-review queue, where the message text is kept only long enough for a human moderator to confirm the bot parsed it correctly.
Trading channels: the bot checks message length, formatting, and emoji usage in a small set of designated trading channels to enforce anti-spam formatting rules. Message content is processed in real time and is not stored.
Vouch channel: the bot reads messages in one designated channel to detect and record trade vouches. Only the resulting vouch record (who vouched for whom, and the message ID) is stored - the vouch message text itself is not stored.
Support tickets: inside a private ticket channel you or staff opened, the bot logs message text and attachment metadata to build a transcript. This is retained after the ticket is closed so staff can refer back to it, and is deleted only when an administrator purges ticket records.
Direct messages to the bot: if you message the bot directly, the message is relayed to a private staff-only channel so staff can respond. It is not separately stored in the bot's database.

3. Third-Party Collection Data

To display Fortnite sprite collection data for users who have separately linked their Epic Games account on the third-party site spritetrading.com, the bot queries spritetrading.com's public API using your Discord user ID. FNSprites does not control spritetrading.com, does not handle or store any Epic Games credentials or tokens, and is not responsible for spritetrading.com's own data practices - see their privacy policy for details on how they handle data.

4. How We Use Information

Information may be used to:

Operate bot commands and server features.
Assign, update, or remove role rewards (collection, vouch, invite, and activity-based rewards).
Track vouches and prevent duplicate weekly vouches.
Maintain support tickets and their transcripts.
Enforce channel restrictions, cooldowns, and anti-abuse limits.
Enforce a restricted-nickname policy.
Announce server growth milestones.
Diagnose technical errors and maintain the bot.

5. Message Parsing and Accuracy Review

Sprite collection detection is performed with deterministic pattern matching, not machine learning or AI. Staff may occasionally flag a collection-channel message into an internal review queue to manually confirm the bot interpreted it correctly. Access to this queue is restricted to authorized bot staff, and message content added to it is never used to train any machine learning or AI model.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information. Information may be transmitted to:

Discord, as necessary to operate commands, messages, and roles.
spritetrading.com's public API, limited to your Discord user ID, to look up collection data for users who linked there.
Infrastructure providers used to host the bot, database, or this website.

Information may also be disclosed when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or others.

7. Data Retention

Information is kept only as long as needed to operate the related feature, maintain historical records, prevent duplicate actions, or enforce server rules. For example:

Vouch history may remain stored after a user leaves the server, unless removed by an administrator.
Support ticket transcripts are retained after a ticket closes and are only deleted when an administrator purges ticket records.
Invite-tracking records for a given inviter are deleted automatically once that inviter earns (or already holds) the invite reward role.

Some limited records may be retained longer where necessary for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, backups, or dispute resolution.

8. Your Choices and Data Requests

Most FNSprites features are opt-in by nature: you choose whether to post in the collection channel, vouch channel, trading channels, or open a support ticket. There is no separate blanket toggle to disable message reading within those specific channels, since reading the message is how the feature works - if you would prefer a message not be processed by a given feature, simply don't post in that channel.

You may contact the server owner or a bot administrator to request access to or deletion of your data where possible. Some records may need to be retained where deletion would interfere with fraud prevention, moderation records, or the correct operation of shared server features (for example, a vouch record involving another user).

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect stored information, including restricting access to the bot's database and configuration. No internet service or storage method is completely secure.

10. Children

FNSprites is intended for use within Discord, which requires users to meet Discord's own minimum age requirements. We do not knowingly collect information from children below the age required by Discord's Terms of Service.

11. Third-Party Services

Discord and spritetrading.com operate under their own terms and privacy policies. FNSprites is not responsible for the privacy practices, availability, or security of those third-party services.

12. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated as the bot changes. The updated date at the top of this page will be revised when material changes are published.
